Day 11

I just got back from Detroit, it was a really fast trip. I stayed in such a sick hotel. Too bad it was in the ghetto. I made enough lemonade to last me tomorrow until I get home from work, and I plan to go to bed early. I am tired! Tomorrow is my last day of just lemonade. Friday I am incorporating orange juice, and Saturday I am making my homemade soup. Sunday begins salad and fruit. I am so excited, finally! I know it is time to be done because I feel good and energized, my tongue is pink (it gets a little "coated" while you begin to eliminate toxins), and I am just ready to be done.

The woman who checked me in at the hotel is in the process of her 2nd cleanse. It was awesome meeting someone else who had done it before with good results. She is doing it again because she can't shake a cold. Travelling was kind of crappy while on this. I had to make sure to finish my drinks before going through security and just drink water until I got to my hotel and was able to make more lemonade. It made me realize that I eat a lot when I travel, just because there is food around and probably because I am bored. Yea so it sucked, but I made it through.

While travelling I thought of things I wanted to share that I learned this past week and a half for anyone who might be considering doing a master cleanse.

My Top 10 Master Cleanse Tips

1. Make sure you are doing it for good reason. A bad example of why to do it is to lose weight. A good example is because you feel run down and unhealthy.

2. Buy some type of juicer. I bought one that I believe was around $6. It is a glass jar with a screw on juicer top that you turn a lemon half on. Don't think you can juice lemons by hand for 10 days, you'll waste time, energy and juice.

3. Use a combination of lemons and limes. I discovered this on around the 5th day and wished I had sooner. For one, it tastes good, a little sweeter. Limes also are much juicer than lemons are, but lemons have more pulp.

4. Use a much pulp as possible. You need to chew on something or you'll go nuts. Having lots of pulp is really helpful not to mention good for you.

5. Make sure to rinse you mouth out after drinking a glass of lemonade, better yet brush your teeth. You don't want to leave the acidic juice on your teeth so it can eat away at your enamel.

6. Use coconut oil as a moisturizer. It is all natural and you can use it both inside and outside of your body. You don't need a lot at a time or you will be greasy.

7. Take your measurements and weigh yourself before and after. I am excited to see my final results.

8. Don't drink the laxative tea every night. It's not good for you. As with any muscle, you use it or you lose it. I suggest every other day, maybe 2 days on, 1 day off. Drink it for the first 4 nights or so, then see how you feel and make a decision. It hurts your tummy, but it works.

9. The salt water is gross, but drink it anyway. You might need the whole quart, your stomach will let you know! In the beginning when I couldn't stand it, I was drink 1 cup. Now I can do about 2 cups. It is essential to rid your body of the stuff that has been loosened up from the tea during the night.

10. Listen to your body! This is definitely the most important part of the master cleanse. Maybe it isn't right for you, maybe you need more than the 10 day minimum. Everyone is different and you need to figure out what works for you.

It's off to bed, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Yay for it being my last full day of drinking just lemonade!
