It has been about 4 months since I did my cleanse. I have kept up with trying to be more healthy. I still haven't gotten into a workout routine, but I eat pretty well. I do eat dairy again, but not as often as I used to. I really try to limit my intake to once or twice a week. I know I tend to feel more run down and gain weight when I eat it, as delicious as it is. I eat a lot of ethnic foods still because they seem to balance the food groups better than stuff you would find around here. My sister bought the book "Skinny Bitch" and I read the first few chapters. At first I though it was some chick lit crap, but I was pleasantly mistaken. I haven't gotten to finish it yet because she is still reading... but anyway there is one thing I did read that stuck with me. Fruit is the easiest food to digest. The first think you should eat in the morning is fruit, then wait a half hour to eat anything else. It will be completely digested in that time.
I really do believe the reason people feel sick from certain foods is the combination of those foods in your body. Some foods literally can't digest when mixed with other foods in your stomach, like a steak and a glass or milk, or even more surprisingly a bowl of cereal with berries. Since I read that about a month ago I have been diligently trying to keep up with that routine. If you are considering cleansing, but don't know if it's for you yet, try to read up on combinations of foods and how they work within your system. I really am a believer that it makes such a difference in the way you feel.
Also since my cleanse I dropped a few more pounds. I haven't tried that hard to, it really just happened naturally because I pay close attention to the food groups. I eat a lot of fruit, vegetables and whole grains. I eat a variety of different kinds of food too. I think it's like working out, you need to change up your routine to see a difference or eventually you plateau. I still would recommend the Master Cleanse to anyone who feels they need to improve their health., not because they want to lose weight quick. I still drink beer, eat pizza and go out to restaurants, just within moderation. I eat well during the week and on the weekends I let myself eat that bagel for breakfast. I will surely do a cleanse again if I feel the need, but for now I think I am doing okay. Now if I could get my butt to the gym..
Oh and just a little postscript... I'm sorry, but if you don't do a cleanse for a minimum of ten days, you didn't do a cleanse. If you don't finish, you didn't do it, period. Sorry if that bitchiness came out of nowhere, but it was hard to do and I want people to know that. It is not easy, it will be hard, but it will surely be worth it when you are all done.
